There is an undeniable buzz in our village, as Forest Row is home to many creative and talented people (see video!).
Here is a selection of things to do and see in and around the village. To explore the surroundings, see Discover the Area.
If it is heath, hills, woodland, water or Winnie the Pooh & Piglet you’re after – then Forest Row is the place for you. As there is no street lighting in our private road, there is no light pollution and on clear nights you can enjoy the stars above.
Woodcote’s back garden path leads you to the Ashdown Forest (Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty) where two 18-hole golf courses weave their way through wood – and heathland. You might bump into Winnie the Pooh, as he and his friends grew up in this area because A.A.Milne lived just up the road.
Weirwood reservoir is good for sailing and fishing.
FOOD & DRINK
For a good coffee and food visit Java & Jazz or Taffels. For a pub drink and food, head to The Swan. For other dinner options, the village houses various restaurants including a pizzeria, a Chinese, 3 Indian restaurants and an ‘Helin’ restaurant.
Woodcote is located 8 minutes walk from Forest Row’s village centre with its many unique shops, lively pubs and worldly restaurants and cafés.
The village has a lot to offer – and more! Are you after a bike shop? Perhaps a gallery? A well stocked outdoor shop, fresh fish, a friendly good hairdresser or some antiques? Then Forest Row is your place.
LIVE THEATRE, MUSIC & STORYTELLING
Often to be enjoyed at Michael Hall School, Emerson College, the Village Hall, the Holy Trinity Church, the Christian Community Church and on a regular basis (Sunday nights) at The Swan and once a month at Taffels. And of course during the annual Forest Row Festival.
